What is it ?
Rainbow 36® Toxic Air Filtration Unit (AFU) gives an alternative option for providing long term protection, used in conjunction with a dedicated safe room.
Safe areas can be provided within a small office or domestic room. Shelter for up to 6 people can be created without the need of gas masks or protective clothing.
For larger commercial safe rooms and offices to give toxic air protection for up to 150 plus persons refer to our FAH range of Air filtration units.

 What else do I need?
Initially you would need to create an airtight room with a minimum number of windows (preferably none) and just one door. The door and window should be blastproof. See Blast proof Doors and Windows.
The Rainbow 36® toxic Air Filtration System is designed for continuous use, so apart from the will to live, all you need to do is stock your saferoom with plenty of food, water, sanitation and entertainment facilities to survive for many weeks during a prolonged external attack.
 How does it work?
The Rainbow 36® toxic Air Filtration Unit (AFU) is connected within seconds to a short extraction duct approximately 3 inches in diameter previously fitted through the external wall of the saferoom.
When not in use the ducting is fitted with clip on weather proof caps. In the event of a CBRN emergency, the caps are removed and the Rainbow 36® Filter Unit can be connected within seconds to the inside wall extraction duct. The filter unit is so light and easy to use it can be attached to the wall duct by a child.
The Rainbow 36® toxic AFU operates from normal 240 Volt electrical supply, but is equipped with a 10 hour battery backup in the event of a power supply failure. Additionally a hand-operated blower bellow system can provide continuous protection should the battery run down.
